Chicago Fire gave their new away kit its’ debut at Columbus on the opening day of the 2017 MLS season. The match ended all-square; Ethan Finlay gave Columbus Crew the lead but a late David Accam goal salvaged a point for Chicago.
Chicago hadn’t won any of the last five meetings between the two sides. It’s a good start for the Fire who are aiming to avoid becoming the first team in MLS history to finish bottom of the table three seasons running.

This is the Chicago Fire 2017 away kit
Adidas produced a unique design for the Men in Red. The kit is light grey with two red lines across the chest. Tonal grey horizontal bands run across the front of the body of the shirt.
The trim on the shirt is navy blue, in the form of a v-neck collar and Three Stripes across the shoulder. On the sleeves, the cuffs are also blue which feature three red stars, symbols of the city of Chicago.
On the left hem on the shirt front is “EST. 1997”, printed in red. On the back of the shirt, under the neckline are crossed hammers in blue.
The shorts and socks are grey with blue trim.
