Real Salt Lake released their 2017 away kit but supporters may have to wait a while to see its’ official debut. It looks like the trip to Colorado Rapids in mid-April will be the first opportunity to wear it.
Pre-season went well, with no defeats and useful wins over New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy. The real thing begins on Saturday at the Rio Tinto Stadium when they entertain Toronto FC.
I don’t know about you but the promotional photos of the new away shirt invokes a retro feel. The artistry speaks 1970s catalogue chic!
Real Salt Lake 2017 MLS Away Shirt
This is the Real Salt Lake away shirt in its natural environment:
When you found your club as an homage to Real Madrid, it’s no surprise that the kit is all-white. It is whiter than white, in fact. The relief to the white are tonal white stripes down the front of the body and cobalt blue accents.
Adidas’ Three Stripes are in blue across the shoulders, meeting with a white crew-neck collar. On the back of the shirt under the collar is a two-tone club crest while at the front, a jock tag of the Stars and Stripes sits above the left hem.
A straightforward and classic football look, which has a hint of the old days about it. So, we’ll finish off with another 1970s catalogue style photo
