Macedonia unveiled their 2016-17 kit range last week during Thursday’s match with Israel. The debut didn’t quite go to plan with a 1 – 2 home defeat but they will wear the home kit again this weekend against Italy in Skopje.
And for a moment, they dared to dream. 2 – 1 up with less than an hour played, they were pegged back to 2 – 2 with fifteen minutes left but lost in injury time. A heartbreaking end to what might have been a famous result.
Macedonia 2016/17 Home and Away Kits
These are the home and away kits Macedonia will wear during the 2016/17 season:
The goalkeepers have a straightforward blue or yellow and black template but the outfield players? That’s something else.
Traditionally red, the home shirt features a yellow graphic representation based on the flag of the Republic of Macedonia. The eight rays of the sun emanate from the Football Federation of Macedonia crest, running across the body of the shirt in a fading pattern.
The seams of shoulders feature yellow piping whilst the collar features yellow trim.
The away kit is all-white with red trim. The sun pattern is repeated, this time with the rays in a faded red.
It’s an incredible design for Jako to release and one which certainly showpieces their artistic tendencies!
