Puma has issued a new colourway for the evoSPEED SL 2 boot. Compared to the evoPOWER colourway, this is a lot more distinctive although the use of Antoine Griezmann‘s tattooed hand may backfire.
The inked “HOPE” may reflect a desire for the notoriously limited lifespan to be extended…
Puma evoSPEED II Boot
This is the evoSPEED II boot with the new white, orange – ‘Shocking Orange’ – and black boot.
The transition from the white front of the upper to the orange heel is handled far more efficiently than on the evoPOWER. This time Puma use a patterned merging with white criss-cross on an orange background.
On the outer, the boot features a strong black Formstripe whilst ‘EVOSPEED’ is printed on the inner in tonal black with a white and black font.
The soleplate is orange with the Puma motif in black. The mixture of blades and orange conical studs with clear tips.
Whilst the textile upper is lightweight to reduce the boot’s weight, combined with the SPEEDFRAME support. This may make them feel like slippers but the durability is negatively impacted.
It’s a brilliantly executed design for this colourway, it’s just a pity that the lifespan makes the boots so fundamentally flawed.
