As much as we love the Eritrea designs, this Darfur United kit is the best of the summer.
Darfur United is the international team of Darfur. Formed in 2012, the initial squad was drawn from refugees in Chad. Since then, they have appeared in a number of international tournaments.
They had intended to appear at the World Unity Cup held in London in August but were forced to withdraw after players were denied visas to enter the United Kingdom.
Darfur United 2016/17 Home Shirt
This is the Darfur United 2016/17 home shirt from AMS Clothing:
The shirt is green with tonal native patterns across the front and back of the shirt.
Contrasting with the base green colour, the shirt trim is white. A y-shape collar and sleeve cuffs are thick white bands.
Darfur United is a symbol of hope for the people, a message reinforced by the sponsor motifs on the front and back of the shirts. On the front, “HUMANITY UNITED” sits prominently in the middle and lower chest area whilst on the back, “HUMANITY before Politics” features on the lower back.
The kit is manufactured by AMS Clothing, an Australian firm from Melbourne which specialises in supplying football ‘apparel’ to developing nations. The kit proceeds are shared in part with the partner associations, some of which are fully fledged members of FIFA whilst others are members of CONIFA, the Confederation of Independent Football Associations, is the football federation for all associations outside FIFA.
CONIFA was founded on the 7th of June 2013, and organized his first World Football Cup in June 2014 in Ostersund, Sweden.
