Real Betis, one of Spain’s best supported clubs, has released their 2016/17 football kits.
The Seville-based club is living in the shadow of local rivals Sevilla’s current success but last season’s tenth place finish represented a solid return to the top flight.
Forty years on from the first of their two Copa Del Rey triumphs, Betis are hoping that newly appointed Uruguayan manager Gus Poyet, can return silverware to the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
REAL BETIS 2016/17 HOME KIT
The club has worn green and white kits continuously since the late 1920s, having previously flirted with other colour combinations.
In 2016/17, the club reverts to the more familiar green and white stripes. Made by Adidas, the kit features evenly spaced stripes across the front and back of the body. The sleeves are solid green.
A white round neck collar feeds Adidas’ Three Stripes to the edge of the shoulder. Below the collar on the shirt’s back, sits the central motif from the club’s crest.
The shorts are white with green trim.
REAL BETIS 2016/17 AWAY KIT
For next season, Real Betis will wear a dark green away kit.
The stripes of the home kit are gone and Adidas has issued an all-green away strip. A darker shade than the home kit, the shirt has a solid body with the v-shaped collar white at the front and a lighter green around the reverse.
On the sleeve, the cuffs are made up of thin dark green, white and light green bands. Adidas’ own stripes come on the sides of the shirt body in light green.
Unusually, Betis are issuing two colours for the shorts, the lighter and darker green, presumably to avoid colour clashes when their opponents wear black or dark navy.
Unusual because there is a third kit…
REAL BETIS 2016/17 THIRD KIT
There isn’t any green in the shirt this time, unless you count the trim. Otherwise, it’s plain yellow with Adidas’ stripes down the side.
Intriguingly, there’s a hint of lime green in the shorts although this may simply be the material and colour combination.
