League One side, Coventry City, have completed their kit range for 2016/17 by issuing their away strip.
The Sky Blues were one of the favourites for promotion last season but failed to meet those expectations. Manager Tony Mowbray will be expecting his team to better their eighth place finish and push into the promotion places.
COVENTRY CITY 2016/17 AWAY KIT
The traditional sky blue home kit has already been released and this one could not be a more stark contrast.
Nike has taken a modernist approach to the Coventry City away kit for 2016/17. Based on the club’s long-established red and black away colours, the shirt features an unusual striped pattern.
We’ve seen kits issued this year where the stripes fade at the bottom of the shirt but few where they emerge so dramatically from the top of the shirt. The sky blue home kit features the same concept.
A thick black panel runs across the chest, shoulders and sleeves, before fiery red and black stripes engulf the shirt in a flame pattern. Could it be Coventry are expected to be hot stuff this season?
The back of the shirt is a disappointing solid black panel.
The fiery effect continues with the red shorts. At the bottom of each leg there is a faded black band, whilst the side of each leg features a black stripe.
Black socks complete kits.
Both Nike and Coventry City have come up with an unusual and striking design for next season.
