Derby County fell apart in last season’s play-off semi-final first leg at the iPro but recovered some pride in the return at Hull City.
The process continues with next season’s kits. The club unveiled the famous white and black home strip last month and have now added the away to the range.
Derby County 2016/17 Away Kit
For next season, Umbro has designed a ‘Galaxy Blue’ away kit for Derby County next season.
The front of the shirt features a satin effect upper chest, which is ‘motion blur’ in kit design parlance. Apparently. Aside from the red logo of sponsor, Just Eat, the trim is white and blue. The combination creates a striking collar.
On the inside of the back of the shirt are the co-ordinates of the iPro Stadium which is handy if they get lost on the way back to the East Midlands from an away game. Above is a depiction of the stanchions on the roof of their new home.
It’s not quite the same visual impact as the interpretation of the Archibald Leitch architecture Everton were able to call upon for their kits.
The kit is finished off with the dark blue shorts and socks.
It’s an intriguing design from Derby. Not a classic by any means but not dull.
