Real Madrid got a busy day of kit releases from Europe’s major clubs under way today with their 2016/17. You could say it’s a flying start, with Emirates Airlines being the shirt primary sponsors.
The kit had been widely leaked beforehand and whilst the initial images proved wrong, the most recent photos weren’t wrong.
It’s the eighteenth home kit Adidas has provided since taking over in 1998 and one of the classiest yet.
Real Madrid 2016/17 Home Kit
This is the Real Madrid home kit for the 2016/17 season.
As we have come to expect, the Real Madrid home kit for next season is all white. It’s fair to say that there would be a riot if it wasn’t. Only once since their formation in 1925/26 has the club not worn white as the base colour so the chances of that being repeated appear slim.
Which is a relief because the club should be proud of this kit. It is a stylish update from Adidas for next season with a polo – style collar with a mulberry underlay.
The visible trim is mulberry, symbolising the club’s ties to the Castile region. Adidas has their trademark Three Stripes down each side of the shirt. The sponsors logos and motifs are all in the same trim colour.
The shorts and socks are both in white with the mulberry trim down the side, or in the case of the socks, on the turnover.
It’s a classy kit, one which will look good as Real aim to cut a swathe across Spain and in Europe. The question is: will they have Paul Pogba to wear it?
All the answers will come during the next ten months.
