Deportivo La Coruna, one of Galicia’s two La Liga representatives, struggled to 15th place last season. They may not have scaled the heights of the early 21st century but this summer, they are taking the prize for best kit. Few others will stand comparison to this third kit.
Issued in celebration of the club’s 110th anniversary of its formation, the kit reflects the first worn by the club in 1906. It is as the promotional poster says, “Our history” – A Nosa Historia.
DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA 2016/17 THIRD KIT
This is the Deportivo La Coruna third kit which will be worn during the 2016/17 season.
The shirt is grey with a hint of silver. An incredible amount of attention has been put into the design, reflecting the historical importance of the kit. The collar revives the original fashion of the era, giving it a modern twist. On the reverse, in a panelled area in the middle of the shoulders is a commemorative logo, prominently displaying the year 1906.
On the chest, Lotto has forsaken the opportunity to place their brand on the right breast, replacing it with the club’s original logo. Opposite on the left is a monochrome version of its current heir; Lotto’s own logo sits incongruously between the two.
In the centre of the shirt, local brewery Hijos de Rivera – first opened in 1906 – has the logo of their premier lager, La Estrella de Galicia, in a suitably fashioned design.
The kit will be finished with black shorts and grey trim. It is an impeccably stylish design and worthy of any celebration.
