Hertfordshire’s only Premier League club, Watford, have launched their 2016-17 kits. Dryword, manufacturers of QPR’s new kits, have added the Hornets to their stable of clubs and signed a three-year deal recently; these kits are the first under that contract.
Watford 2016/17 Home Kit
Watford and Dryworld present a new home kit for the 2016/17 season.
The shirt is yellow, keeping with the predominantly yellow shirt which made its Watford debut in 1959. The club wore yellow and red stripes in the late 19th Century but in the interim wore black and white stripes or blue.
It’s a clean design, devoid of pattern which gives it a timeless quality, tied only the logo of primary sponsor, 138.com.
The trim is black and red. The winged collar is black with a thin red edging. Lifted, a completely red underside is revealed. On the sleeves, the cuff is black with a thin red edge but the inside is once more the alternate red.
On the side of the shirt is thin red stripe running from the armpit to the hem.
The shorts and socks will both be black with red and yellow trim.
Watford 2016/17 Away Kit
This is the away kit Watford for the coming 2016/17 season.
Like the home kit, the Hornets have opted for a clean design. The trim on the shirt is black and red, with the collar and cuffs following a similar template to the home kit.
The shorts will be white whilst the socks will be black.
The simplicity of Dryworld’s kits reveals a similar approach to QPR’s; mindful of the club’s traditions but giving them a refresh or a modern update.
