Ladbrokes Premiership club, Partick Thistle, have released their 2016/17 home kit. First worn in January 1935, the Glasgow-based club continue with their variations on the yellow and red shirts, coupled with black shorts.
Having finished in ninth place, the Jags will be hoping for a much-improved performance in the Scottish top flight. The Maryhill Magyars clinched their Premiership survival with a 2 – 0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Partick Thistle 2016/17 Home Kit
This is the Partick Thistle home kit for the 2016/17 season.
The fourth year of their contract sees Joma cup up with a unique shirt design. For the first time in Partick’s history, there is a broad red stripe down the front of the shirt’s body with the rest of the shirt being yellow.
The shirt has a black winged collar, with yellow trim with the plunging black neckline hosts a red panel.
The yellow sleeves run into the similarly coloured side panels and shoulders, and are completed with black cuffs.
Primary sponsor, Kingsford Capital, see their yellow logo in a white circle occupy the centre of the red stripe on the shirt, albeit with a disturbing sun type face in the middle. Any naughty children in the Maryhill area might face the threat, not of the naughty stair but instead the scary face. It’s a logo you won’t forget in a hurry. No matter how hard you might try, we should add.
The kit is finished off with black shorts and socks.
It’s a different take on the club’s traditional colours. A classic? Not so far but a ‘grower’. Or growler in Kingsford’s case!
