Photos of the 2016/17 Bayern Munich away kit have leaked onto the internet. Bundesliga champions for the fourth season running, the Bavarians have already released a new home kit for next season.
Bayern Munich 2016/17 Away Kit
This is the Bayern Munich away kit for the 2016/17 season.
Possibly wary of copyright issues, Bayern Munich have opted for three shades of grey. Separated into three areas, the shirt begins at the top with light grey across the right side, with both sleeves the same colour. The sleeves of the shirt have black cuffs.
Across the middle of the shirt, a mid-grey sash travels from the left shoulder down toward the bottom of the right side. Finishing the unusual look, a dark grey third covers the rest of the front of the shirt.
Adidas used red for their trademark Three Stripes whilst their logo appears on the right breast in white, sitting opposite the club badge on the left. Primary shirt sponsor, T-Mobile, also has their logo in the centre of the shirt in white.
A rounded v-neck collar in black completes the shirt.
The reverse uses the lightest grey colour used on the front of the shirt. It’s a clean design with the club name, “Bayern Munchen”, in red across the shoulders.
With the home kit taking a stylish polo style design, the away shirt is something of a surprise with its’ adventurous elements and unusual colouring. Whether Bayern follow Manchester United’s lead and ditch the grey away shirt midway through the season when Sir Alex Ferguson famously attributed the shirt design as a key reason for a 6 – 3 defeat at then mid-table, Southampton.
A Bayern defeat by the same scoreline next season will be more seismic, especially if at the hands of a mid-table Bundesliga side.
