Amid supporter unrest, Greenock Morton have withdrawn their original design for their 2016/17 home kit. Instead, the replacement has been chosen by an online poll of fans.
Greenock Morton 2016/17 Home Kit
This is the Greenock Morton home kit which will be worn for the 2016/17 season.
The second attempt at the home kit for next season is based on the club’s traditional colours of blue and white hoops. Produced by custom sportswear manufacturer, Vision Outsourcing, due to the short notice of the redesign, this won the poll by over 100 votes.
Each hoop consists of royal blue bands with white pinstripes. On replica shirts, the hoops travel the whole of the shirt body but on those worn by the players, the back will have a panel for names and numbers to be printed.
Down the side of the shirt body will be a yellow panel which meets with a similar stripe on the white shorts. The shirt collar and cuffs will be royal blue with the sleeves being plain white.
Sponsor millions, has their logo on the white chest height band whilst the club crest will be stitched onto the white hoop above to enable the blue of the badge to be clearly visible on the shirt. On the reverse, Millions has a small logo below the neckline.
The shorts are finished off with a blue band at the bottom of each thigh and comes with the club crest on the right leg. Printed opposite will be the year of the club’s formation, 1874.
Originally, the club had opted for a variation of the traditional Ajax shirt design, replacing the Dutch club’s red stripe with a blue one. Protests mounted and the club hastily arranged a poll via local media and a department store, to arrive at the new kit.
