FC Basel have launched their brand new Basilisk kit. The iconic Swiss club are paying tribute to the mythological creature which is heavily associated with the city with their latest shirt launch.
Manufactured by Italian sports brand Macron, the FC Basel Basilisk kit is primarily a gold colour with brown and orange applications on the collar, sleeve cuffs and side panels of the strip. A graphic of the basilisk, which is regarded as a serpent, runs through the jersey. As with the club’s away and third kit, we also see a minimalistic version of the badge, giving the shirt a modern look.
Despite once being the dominant team in Swiss football, recent years have seen Basel struggle to reach those heights. Last season the club finished mid-table in a disappointing campaign. Fans of the team will be hopeful of a return to success in the coming years. One of the highlights of the summer for Basel was re-signing club and Switzerland legend Xherdan Shaqiri. They currently sit 2nd in the Swiss Super League.
In other news, Ferencvaros have dropped their stunning 125 year anniversary shirt.
