Union Berlin dropped the latest version of their away jersey over the weekend in the club’s match-up against Bayer Leverkusen. In collaboration with their shirt sponsor Paramount and Adidas, Union Berlin have released a special Star Trek themed sponsor jersey.
Along with a Star Trek sponsor, Union have also made a Paw Patrol sponsor kid friendly version of the away shirt. Despite the jerseys being unique and received well online, many Union fans showed their displeasure of the clubs decision to wear the away jersey during a home game.
Many banners with messages protesting the decision were displayed during their 1-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.
Paramount have had similar collaborations with Inter Milan when the Italian side dropped a special Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sponsored strip.
Union currently sit 12th in the Bundesliga after a successful season last year which saw the club qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stages.
