Al Ahly are the most successful Egyptian side in history, and the current league champions. Al Ahly recently competed in the Club World Cup, for which they won entry by winning the CAF Champions League and being crowned champions of Africa. To celebrate their recent success, Al Ahly released a commemorative third kit (seen below). This kit most recently featured during Ah Ahly’s Club World Cup semi-final defeat against Fluminense. It remains to be seen If Al Ahly will don the kit for their 3rd place play-off, or If the kit will feature again this season. Nevertheless, this was arguably the biggest stage to show off this new Adidas masterpiece.
As seen above, this Ah Ahly kit is easy on the eyes, with the main white colouring nicely blended with the red exterior and gold trims on the sleeves. White was an unusual choice for Ah Ahly, given it features predominantly on the kit of their biggest rivals Zamalek. Nevertheless, the deep red matches Al Ahly’s traditional shade, whilst the gold is a signifier of success. To further ensure the club’s traditional colouring is represented, the logos and sponsoring are also splashed in red across the front of the kit. The four stars neatly arranged above the club badge symbolises Ah Ahly’s four successful captures of the African Cup Winners’ Cup. The most in history. A beautiful and commemorative kit, Adidas and Al Ahly outdid themselves on this occasion.
