We at UK Soccer Shop love seeing well designed kits. You might have guessed that from how excited we get when one’s presented to us. Today is an excitable day because we bring you Parma’s latest home kit. Their 2018/19 strip is full of simple style and club heritage. As an Italian side playing at the top of their game, Parma compete in Serie A. So far this season they’ve played one game and taken one point from it. Having finished their 2017/18 Serie B with a second place finish and promotion, Roberto D’Aversa will hope that his side can not only survive but compete in Italy’s highest division.
To reward the fans for their continued support last season, Parma has teamed up with Errea. Together, they’ve crafted a kit that is reflective of the 1970s glory days and full of sylistic flair.
The kit is black and white. To break that down further, it is white with a dominating black cross. This cross seems to split the white into four unequal quadrants. Within each of the top cross segments sits the club’s crest in one, and Aon (the club’s secondary sponsor) in the other. In the middle sits Errea’s logo and beneath that is Cetilar, the club’s main sponsor.
The neckline looks very similar to a polo top. White lines run around the bottom of the collar and cross at the front. Furthermore, these lines can also be found tapering the bottom of the sleeves.
In the mid-60s, Parma fell to Serie D and it was the 70s (where this kit gains inspiration) that the club found momentum once again to climb back into Serie B.
Parma Calcio 1913 have listened to the fans who wanted heritage. Errea crafted a kit that is both stylistically unique and reflective of this glorious club’s past.
