Concept Kits Can be Fun to See. Here’s Wolverhampton Wanderers’
Today has been a strange one for us at UK Soccer Shop. We started the morning with a piece about the importance of lower league football. We went on to talk about Zamora CF’s third kit that genuinely shocked us, and now we’re taking a look at one of the latest concept kits to be making the rounds on Twitter. It’s Wolverhampton Wanderers. Newly promoted to the Premier League, fans would be forgiven for feeling nervous about the beginning of the season. While they might be the new kid returning to the block, they’ve given a good account of themselves so far.
The club currently sits in seventh place. They’re two points ahead of Manchester United and five points away from first place. Nuno Espírito Santo will want to keep up this starting momentum.
We looked at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 2018/19 home and away kits in June. The 2019/20 concept kits are similar in style, however the colours are perhaps the most dramatic change.
The home kit is almost identical to the current home kit. It’s still a bright orange, bordered with black. It also features Adidas’ iconic stripes across the shoulders, and the club’s crest that is displayed prominently. However, the difference is in the subtle pattern that appears on the front of the jersey. Running vertically are two medium-sized stripes. These add character to an already bold kit.
The away concept kit is a gorgeous dark blue and the secondary colour is orange. Furthermore, the subtle striped pattern is also present.
Finally, the third kit is a gorgeous racing green colour. Furthermore, the stripes and elements are cream-coloured meaning that all three kits are different. It’s rare that concept kits materialise as anything other than a dream, however these kits have been positively received by Wolverhampton Wanderers’ fans.
