Red Bull Leipzig Have Revealed Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Nike

Possibly the Most Unpopular Football Team, Red Bull Leipzig has Revealed Their 2018/19 Away Kit.

In football there are plenty unpopular teams. Leeds and Millwall have a hooligan reputation. Furthermore, Norwich are the rivals of Ipswich Town, so of course they’re unpopular; even if they’re currently playing better football. These unpopular teams can be beaten and have dragged themselves steadily up through each league over time. They’re unpopular but they’re teams that at worst, we love to hate. One team that is unpopular for a very different reason is Red Bull Leipzig.

Set up in 2009, the club has used its lucrative income from Red Bull to bankroll their side. Leipzig’s expensive rosta ensured that promotion would be swift. As a result, they currently compete in the top level of German football: the famous Bundesliga. While fans around Germany have protested the club’s participation, Red Bull Leipzig won’t be going anywhere.

So, why are we talking about them? Well, as you can tell from the above and below pictures, they’ve released their latest away kit. The club’s home kit was plain, bright, and simple. It featured an excellent pattern across the sleeves, but how does the away kit compare?

The simple answer is that the away kit is equally as positive and simple, however, if we were Simon Cowell, we might say that it doesn’t quite have the X-Factor.

Red Bull Leipzig’s away jersey is blue. The body is darker than the sleeves, and on top of this blank canvas sits the club’s crest, Nike’s iconic Swoosh and Leipzig’s main sponsor – Red Bull.

The nape of the jersey is yellow. Furthermore, the neckline is simple and there is no alternative colour running around the bottom of each sleeve. Nike’s breathable technology allows players to feel at their coolest under even the most intense pressure. It’s a nice kit but for us, it doesn’t quite push the envelope.
