Gremio FC Reveal Their 2018/19 Third Kit from Umbro
Gremio’s Latest Third Kit is Subtle but Excellent.
If you’d asked this author ten minutes ago who Gremio was. He would instead direct the conversation towards Ipswich’s season so far. They haven’t picked up a win and they’re eight games in. Once you’d calmed him down and told him that it’s only a game, he’d tell you that Gremio are a Brazilian football team that seems to dominate Brazil’s Serie A. Right now, as of writing this piece, we’re waiting for the season to kick off. In Gremio’s 2017/18 campaign they finished in fifth place. That isn’t a bad start and something for Renato Portaluppi to build on.
To help the club build and to give the fans something to look at, other than the football, Gremio FC has teamed up with Umbro, one of our favourite kit designers, to craft a third kit that is basic in its design, but holds a number of hidden elements that make it excellent.
The kit is charcoal and has a number of vertical lines running up the front to the simple neckline at the top. This alone gives the kit an abundance of character. Furthermore, running around the neckline are two stripes – white and blue. Each colour presented on the kit also appears inside the club’s crest, which is displayed prominently on the chest. Also on the pointed, simple neckline, if you look closely, the name ‘Gremio,’ is printed multiple times. This adds to the kit’s overall character and is a feature that we at UK Soccer Shop love.
The bottom of each sleeve is half charcoal in colouring and half blue and white.
While the nape has been taken up to promote Umbro, the back also features a number of other sponsors. This allows for an uncluttered look on the front of Gremio’s third kit.
