Last week we brought you Olympique Lyon’s third kit. It was bright, bold, eye-catching, and orange. Three things that we always appreciate here at UK Soccer Shop. The pattern running across was one that we’ve seen before from Adidas. A sort of checker board shape which stretches across the front of the jersey. The back of the kit was plain orange and the sleeves, neckline, and shoulders were contrasted nicely with a dark shade of blue. We thought it might be best to rewind back to the release of the club’s home kit. Much like the third one, this design is considerate, simple, and effective.
Currently sat in fourth place, Olympique Lyon have six points from three games and Burno Genesio will want to see his team steadily climb French football’s top division.
The kit is white. Usually a smart choice. However we have seen some shockingly muddled white kits in our time. On top of this white canvas sits the club’s crest, Adidas’ logo, and Olympique Lyon’s main sponsor. Running vertically underneath the arms of this jersey are Adidas’ trademark three stripes.
Towards the top of the chest is a single horizontal blue line and above that, red fills the shoulder areas.
Utilizing Adidas’ Climalite technology, the jersey allows players to feel completely cool under even the most intense pressure. So far, the majority of fans have responded positively to this simple, bright, effective kit, however some are unconvinced.
Finally, inside the collar of this expertly-crafted jersey are the words, “We are Olympique Lyonnias.” This kit certainly demonstrates the strong identity that the club hold. Furthermore, this pride will certainly be enhanced if the team can beat OGC Nice on Friday.
Now that we’ve shown the home kit, click here to see the club’s expertly-crafted third kit. Furthermore, we at UK Soccer Shop think they’re both excellent.
