Argentinian football. Here at UK Soccer Shop, we don’t often write about the South American league football. Not because we’re un-interested. Far from it. But because these past few months have been a whirlwind of activity, both on and off the pitch. Now that the summer heat is dying down and it’s back to school time, we have the opportunity to see those kits that we might have originally missed. One such kit is Boca Juniors’ home kit. The jersey is designed by Nike, so naturally we think it will be sleek, stylishly designed, and practical. Were we right? Of course.
But who are the Boca Juniors? Well, they’re a club based in the Boca region of Buenos Aires, a vibrant city full of excitement. After three games played, the club currently sits in 12th place. Rosario Central is in first place, however, of course there is all to play for. Another eight months of Argentinian football. Everything could and will change.
On to the kit then. The main colouring is a navy blue. This is the perfect backdrop for the gold and navy club crest and a gold version of Nike’s iconic Swoosh. Running horizontally across the middle of the jersey is a gold, thick stripe. On top of this stripe sits Qatar Airways – the club’s main sponsor. It’s a simple design but allows every component to remain uncluttered.
The sleeves have a slight, navy blue tapering at the bottom (hardly noticeable due to the colour), and the neckline is simple. We rarely see Nike employing any sort of colour, so they’re keeping very much on-brand here.
Furthermore, the nape of the kit features the letters: CABJ,which stands for “Club Atletico Boca Juniors.”
We at UK Soccer Shop really like that final detail and hope Boca Juniors can seriously compete this season.
