Sydney FC Reveal Their 2018/19 Home Kit by Puma

Yesterday we showed you Melbourne City’s latest home kit. Today we thought it best to show you Sydney FC’s first kit. We also gave you the following three facts yesterday:

  1. There are three times as many sheep as there are people living in Australia.
  2. 17 of the world’s most poisonous snakes are to be found in the country.
  3. A ban on saying the word ‘mate’ in parliament was introduced in 2004. It was overturned after 24 hours.

None of them are particularly relevant. However, in the space of 24 hours, this author has told fact number one to seven people. That’s right. Seven.

Sydney FC won the A-League last season. They finished ahead of Melbourne City and the Newcastle Jets. This season manager Graham Arnold will hope to repeat last season’s feat of glory and win the title for a third consecutive time.

To get them there, the club have teamed up with Puma to create a gloriously bright blue kit that is both simple and eye-catching. Furthermore, the kit has a number of sponsorship elements, none of which seem too cluttered to fit.

The neckline of the kit is a simple one. It features dark blue tapering which can also be seen on the bottom of each sleeve. On the chest sits the club’s crest, their main sponsor, the league’s logo, and Puma’s iconic image.

On the back and sleeves we can see further sponsorship, allowing the club extra funds to buy those key players.

To complete the kit design, the jersey will be worn with navy-coloured shorts.

The kit itself has been received mainly positively by fans, however many just think it’s fine. Nothing special.

The club’s first game of the new season is against Cairns and they’ll hope they can pick up the full points to push them on their way.
