Tottenham Hotspur Release Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Nike

According to the countdown clock: “Days Until Christmas,” it’s now only 12 weeks until Santa squeezes down your chimney. Why is that relevant? It isn’t, we just wanted to make you roll your eyes. If we were to tenuously link that fact to today’s latest kit reveal we’d say that after showing you Tottenham Hotspur’s home kit yesterday, we thought we would bring you the gift of their away kit. It’s designed by Nike and is a smart, sleek, simple kit without too many bold, distracting colours.

The club won their first game against Newcastle at the weekend. The match finished 2-1 but it’s clear that Tottenham are here to compete this season and hope to fill their trophy cabinet with anything considered a modern piece of silverware.

Let’s take a look at the away kit that was on display against the Magpies last Saturday.

The kit’s body is blue. A deep blue that allows the turquoise colouring across the sleeves to really stand out. These two shades contrast nicely and create a kit with plenty of character.

The pattern on the sleeves is one that Nike have deployed a number of times in the 2018/19 kit design period. It reminds us of a bar chart and also appears down the sides of the shorts.

The nape of the jersey features a simple vertical white line between two dark blue stripes. Furthermore, on the chest of the jersey is the club’s crest, Nike’s iconic Swoosh and Tottenham’s main sponsor: AIA.

The kit has received completely mixed reviews from fans on social media. Some love it, some don’t mind it, and others hate it. If a kit design won campaigns then this kit would have a rather turbulent season ahead.

We’ll next see Tottenham’s away kit against Manchester United on the 27th August. They’ll have a tough time against Mourinho’s side.
