Burnley F.C. have just signed Joe Hart from Manchester City on a two year deal. He’s is famous to non-football fans for his England appearances, as well as featuring in a Head and Shoulders shampoo advert. To football fans (that should really be put in inverted commas), Joe Hart was replaced gradually as the first team starting keeper for Manchester City by Brazilian Ederson Moraes. Now heading to Burnley, he might not be their number one choice but it might be the opportunity he needs to prove himself.
We mention this exciting signing on deadline day because the club have just recently unveiled their third kit. It’s designed by Puma and the stunning, simplicity of it means that we simply must talk about it.
The colouring is silver. Shining bright and contrasting nicely with the claret home kit and white away one.
On the chest the club’s crest, Puma’s logo and Burnley’s main sponsor all stand out on an uncluttered canvas.
Also on the front of the jersey is a ‘V’ shaped pattern that looks like a series of pixels meshed together. Unlike many kits that we see, apart from black and silver, there aren’t any more colours that give the kit depth. The sleeves and neckline remain un-tapered and the only other characteristic worth mentioning is the breathable technology across the top of the sleeves.
This technology allows the player to feel completely cool under even the most intense pressure.
Fans travelling to see the mighty Clarets play will rarely get a chance to see this kit. I’m sure this fact won’t spoil the day for too many Burnley supporters. They’ll simply be focusing on getting the results they need to climb the table. After finishing in 7th place in their last campaign, Sean Dyche will have his sights firmly set on the top six.
