At the end of their 2017/18 campaign, Blackpool F.C. had finished in 12th place of League One. Not a particularly great finishing spot, nor one that was too disastrous. Now that the 2018/19 season has kicked off, Gary Bowyer will hope that his team can climb into those top places and be welcomed back into the Championship. This is after being kicked out of both the second tier and third tier of English football in successive seasons.
To help them on their way, the club has teamed up with legendary kit designers Errea to craft their home kit. The kit caused one fan to remark: “all Blackpool kits look the same”.
This bright orange kit is punctuated with plenty of white design decisions. Around the neckline is a semi-classic collar at the back and a low-reaching meet-point at the front. A similar neckline was seen on the 2017/18 kit. However, a new feature on this one is the white. This runs along the top of the shoulders to the edge of the sleeves.
Blackpool’s latest sponsor – BETSID features prominently on the chest of the jersey. The club have signed a three-year deal. This has been done in the hopes of bringing further revenue to bolster the squad.
The bottom of the sleeves are tapered with white. This allows a more complete look and fits in perfectly with the overall design.
Despite the kit being launched with the promotional slogan, “ready for the new season,” Blackpool FC drew with Wycombe in a 0-0 draw.
We at UK Soccer Shop are so excited to get our teeth into the 2018/19 season and hope that Blackpool really are ready for the challenge that’s ahead of them.
