Leeds United Reveal Their 2018/19 Home Kit by Kappa

Leeds United. Throughout the 90s hooliganism was rife in English football. Often fans would have to escape street brawls that broke out between opposing fans. No club had more notorious fans that Leeds United. These days hooliganism has been cracked down on and seemingly ejected from football. However, Leeds United fans still pack the terraces of Elland Road. And they’ll still shout down the opposing team and travel around the country to let other teams know what’s what.

The last time that Leeds were in the Premier League, this author was still at primary school. Furthermore, Eric Prydz’ Take On Me was in the charts. The club has, in recent years, bounced around the Championship, just missing out on a play-off place in 2017. This upcoming campaign, Marcelo Biesla will hope that his team can seriously compete and return to the Premier League after a 14-year hiatus.

To help them climb back up the Championship table, The Peacocks have teamed up with Kappa to create a simple home kit without may frills, but still stylishly presented

The kit goes on sale tomorrow (27/07/2018). It’s a plain white kit with the club’s crest, Kappa’s logo, and the club’s main sponsor all featuring on the front of the jersey.

Any sign of a classic collar has been ditched and instead, Kappa have opted for a simple neckline, un-tapered by any other colour. The sleeves also remain un-tapered and Kappa’s logo features on each of the shoulders.

When a club releases a new kit, they want their fans to be excited. Understandably so. It’s the mark of a new season about to begin and Leeds United will want to instil enthusiasm into their fans. As much as this is the case, the club has only released one promotional photo. It’s the one features in this article and no amount of searching turned up any others.

Tomorrow we’ll find out if there’s anything exciting on the back of the kit top. However, for now we’ll just have to use our imaginations.
