Sheffield United Reveal Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Adidas

On July 5th, as England were gearing up for their quarter finals’ match against Sweden and President Trump hadn’t arrived in the UK, we showed you what Sheffield United’s 2018/19 home kit looked like. It was simple, it had Adidas’ trademark features, and an interesting sponsorship appearance on the back of the jersey. We at UK Soccer Shop really liked the kit. It showed us how to be bold with only a few simple tricks. Now that England were thrown out of the competition by Croatia and the whole tournament has come to an end, it’s time to take a look at the club’s away kit.

Sheffield United’s first season back in the Championship for six years went pretty well. They competed as expected and fought for a 10th place finish. For a club that had bounced around League One for the amount of time that they did, Sheffield United can be rather proud of their top-half finish. To build on this positivity and bolster the squad, manager Chris Wilder has his sights set on Southampton striker Sam Galllagher.

How successful this transfer-window activity will be, only time will tell. However, to get fans in the mood for another Championship season, Adidas have crafted a lime green kit.

Across the jersey are a number of horizontal lines that vary in thickness. This variety creates a checkerboard pattern and gives the kit top a nice amount of depth.

On the front of the kit, the clubs crest, Adidas’s logo and the main sponsor features prominently.

While the kit itself is expertly crafted with Climalite technology, the club’s secondary sponsors – Doordeals, which appears on the nape of the kit, has a clashing green in the logo. This colouring added to the effective design of the home kit, we’re just not sure if it adds anything to this away kit.

Across the shoulders, a keen eye will spot Adidas’ iconic stripes leading up to the neckline.

We at UK Soccer Shop can’t wait to see this away kit on the club’s travels around the UK. It’s bright, bold, and perhaps exactly what fans want for their upcoming campaign.
