Ask anyone to name one of Italy’s top competing football teams and they’ll surely name AC Milan in the top three. The club have seen legends and won plenty of titles. Despite this illustrious past and household name-status, the club finished their 2017/18 campaign in 6th place. Arguably a little underwhelming. While most footballing fans have been enjoyed supporting their country at the World Cup, Italy sadly haven’t been able to. There are plenty of teams that perhaps should have been competing but it just wasn’t so for Italy. While the world has gone international mad, AC Milan have been able to focus on the upcoming season. With intense rumours flying round about Christiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus, AC Milan will have to sign some pretty special players.
As well as signing star-quality players, the club have teamed up with kit designer Puma to create a wonderful away kit. Possibly even the author’s favourite away kit to date.
The kit top is white. Sometimes this is excellent, other times it doesn’t quite work. Here, we love the simplicity combined with stylistic flair that comes with the jersey.
Furthermore, the chest, running horizontally is a black, seemingly drawn line. It looks as if someone has done it DIY-style and we love that. Usually kit designs are slick. Their design quality comes from the precision. Here, the quality comes from a more rustic feel.
Finally, the neckline is a semi-built up collar without buttons, reflecting the club’s illustrious past. The kit top receives further kudos for its simple colouring. The only extra colour is red which features in Puma’s logo, the club’s crest and sponsor. The club’s colours have been tastefully incorporated.
Next season, AC Milan will hope to seriously compete at the top of the table. They’ll hope for that league title and we look forward to seeing them try for it.
