Leicester City Release Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Adidas
Three years ago they pulled off something really special. And it was special. Leicester City fought the top titans of the EFL to become title champions. Most thought their momentum would run out around February but Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes ploughed on to take home the trophy. It was arguably the most successful season in living memory and despite the unpleasantness that came afterwards (players seemingly turning on Ranieri), it will live on in most football fans as one of the best Premier League seasons. What made it even more special is that Leicester’s main man – Jamie Vardy was playing League One football for Fleetwood Town until 2012. Even more significant is that before this, he was earning 30 pounds per week with Stockbridge Park Steels, a non-league side. Now he’s on the world stage for England.
While Leicester City looked like they might actually be relegated after their title win, Claude Puel managed to steady the ship. Having finished their 2017/18 season in 9th place, the Foxes will be looking to climb the table again and compete with the top sides once more.
To boost them on their way, the club have teamed up with Adidas to create an away kit that is simple but well designed. The kit has so far received mainly positive reviews, but what do you think?
We at UK Soccer Shop really like it.
The kit is two-tone grey. It appears to have a light and dark checker board pattern that is caused by varying thickness of dark grey stripes running horizontally across the kit. Sponsors King Power are displayed in large white lettering on the front. Adidas’ logo, the club’s crest and the finishing touches are bright orange, perhaps reflecting Leicester City’s connection with the fox.
The shoulders feature Adidas’ infamous stripes, leading from the shoulders up to the neckline.
This is a great kit to be seen on the club’s travels. Competing at the top of the table has just been made a little trickier with Burnley’s record sponsorship deal – bringing in huge funding for the club.
