Huddersfield Town Have Released Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Umbro
A couple of weeks ago we at UK Soccer Shop showed you Huddersfield Town’s 2018/19 home kit. It was designed by Umbro and displayed a bright simplicity that we love. It carried with it Umbro’s trademark design characteristics and the club’s extensive heritage.
The club finished their 2017/18 season in 16th place. Two above the relegation spots and a respectful place from which to build upon. It’s clear to the outside world that David Wagner wants to bolster his team, being linked with names like Erik Durm from Borussia Dortmund. To put confidence into the hearts of the fans, Huddersfield have released their away kit. It, like the home kit is simple, still retaining the boldness that the club probably need right now.
They not only want to survive, they want to compete.
The away kit is black and red. The pattern that Umbro have opted for is medium stripes, running vertically down the front and back.
In modern times, the club’s kits have featured a well-designed crest with three stars above it. For their 2018/19 kits, Huddersfield have decided to return to their past. The new kits feature a picture of a rather angry looking dog about to eat a football, and the word “Terriers” underneath. This new club crest recognises their extensive heritage and the fans who travel regularly to watch their team play.
The body pattern bleeds halfway onto the sleeves and curves back round. This gives the kit more shape. Each of the sleeves are tapered with Umbro’s trademark inter-linked logo. This has been seen on all of Umbro’s kit designs for this season. To us it seems a reflection of Umbro’s retro past.
This away kit is surely bold enough to make a positive impact on the Premier League. We love Umbro’s kits. They instantly make us nostalgic and who knows, Huddersfield fans might look back with nostalgia on the kit that pushed them up the Premier League table.
