Bristol City Release Their 2018/19 Away Kit

Bristol City. Last season they finished in 11th place. Not a bad place to be. One ahead of Ipswich Town, but still, it isn’t where Lee Johnson will want his team to end up next season. He’s said that he’s looking to take advantage of financial uncertainty in the league. Such as Aston Villa’s impending struggle with the taxman. This time next year, we could be writing that they’ve gained promotion. We might be saying “wow, what a season, unbeaten at home, automatically promoted.” Equally the gamble on other’s financial difficulty might not work out and they might find themselves competing with Sunderland in League One.

In the hope that it’s the first option, the club have released a kit that celebrates the success of the 1980s. The club won the football league trophy in 1986 and gained promotion in 1989. The club will hope to mirror this success.

The kit itself is black and white and has received mainly positive feedback from fans eager to get the 2018 season started.

The body is white with a large, horizontal black stripe across the chest. Sitting inside this stripe is a logo reminiscent of the more classic crest. It’s a robin balanced on a ball with the Clifton Suspension Bridge in the background. This crest instantly makes the kit feel more classic and allows the red on the robin’s chest to stand out.

Finally, the look, the kit is completed with black shorts and black and white socks.

The slogan that promotes this latest away kit is, “it’s back”. About the kit, the club’s vice chairman, Jon Lansdown said “I hope the fans like the new designs and enjoy wearing them with pride.”

Bristol City will certainly be wearing this away kit with pride. They’ll be hoping that next season, it’s they who sit in the top spots.
