1.FSV Mainz 05 have released their new 2016/17 home kit which they will debut today in what the club have called “their Europa League showdown” with HSC Berlin at the Coface Arena.
2016/17 Home Kit
For the first time since 2007, the kit has been manufactured by Lotto.
The Italian manufacturer has kept the shirt unfussy. All red, it features a rising cuff on the sleeve which houses their own logo in the only trim on the shirt. The logo of sponsor, Kömmerling, sits prominently across the chest.
The back, again plain, celebrates the year of the club’s formation with a simple “1905” at the bottom of the neck, under the red collar.
The kit is finished off with white shorts, complete with a red trim across each thigh, and red socks with a white turnover at the top.
It’s a simple design and a welcome return to the firm founded by the Caberlotto family in 1973. The players had fun during the launch photoshoot, imbued no doubt by the club’s nickname of Karnevalsverein, the carnival club.
