Nike Unveil New Nike Mercurial Superfly V Soccer Boots

Nike has launched their brand new Nike Mercurial Superfly V soccer boots at their innovation summit in Manhattan.

The boot itself builds on the success of its predecessor and boasts some innovations to”to create a real one-to-one fit.” meaning the sole plate of the new boot has been rebuilt. Nike has managed to make the sole 40% lighter and designed for a single-layer chassis which sets it apart from previous versions.

The studs are placed at strategic parts around the base of the boots pointing in different directions. This feature is to ensure players can stop and ‘turn on a dime’ with very little effort. The new Nike Mercurials are designed to nurture speed and enhance players ability to break and set off again with no hesitation.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the face of the Mercurial series, and he was delighted with the new boots.

“It’s like my attitude,” Ronaldo declares. “I’m a straightforward and aggressive player. The stud shape reminds me of my character and performs very well on the pitch.” said the midfielder.

By analyzing how players with great speed dribble the ball they have also ushered in a 3D upper, so there is more friction between the foot and the ball, helping even the closest of dribblers out just that bit more.

Anyone wanting their hands on these great new innovative boots will, unfortunately, have to wait as they’re not scheduled to hit stores until the summer with June 2nd being the likely date for their release.
